I wanted to write this review because I was a little nervous about getting a digger. I wasn’t even certain if the public could rent them when I enquired. Basically I bought an polly tunnel for my allotment, and hadn’t thought about what I needed to do to prep the sight for it. It dawned on me that it was going to take me weeks to level (grade) the site and so I reluctantly enquired with 2 local digger hire companies. I don’t think the other guy even got back to me. Dave was great. Really calm. He gave clear explanations. It was nice to speak to someone who can so clearly explain spacial stuff. The digger was brand new, and after you got your head around the many controls really intuitive to use. In fact being able to quickly use such a complex machine is thrilling. My only note of caution is you do need to be aware that even a mini digger is a seriously powerful and therefor potentially dangerous bit of kit so you do have to be a grown-up with it. Make sure anyone who could get hurt is well out of reach of the arm and take breaks, so you don’t make a costly mistake when your concentration goes. I really benefited from getting off the digger, taking a step back and looking at what I had done. Dave kindly came down to my plot with me and gave me a few tips on how to do what I wanted to do. Which was really kind, very helpful. I got what I needed to done, and even had time to put in 2 huge new beds. Something that would have taken me 2 afternoons by hand but took less than 5 mins with the digger. I then demolished a green house that had been broken by the wind, and finally had time to drive the digger back to the car park and use it to load wheelbarrows of bark for my paths, which I almost got finished before the pick up time. I was delighted by the day and surprisingly shattered when it was over. I don’t know if that was because my brain mistakenly thought i’d move all that earth by hand or if I just did more than I thought cos the digger made it so easy to fill the wheelbarrows! I finished my day with no man-xiety and now I’m finding myself scanning my environment for other jobs that I could do with a digger. :-) Will use again.

Dave and team redid a driveway for us, added a new gate, security lights and cameras. Such a great experience from start to finish. A very comprehensive and reasonable quote which didn’t change.
